Giovanni Barbieri has chosen Black Limestone as the canvas for the masculine and dramatic design captured in Oblio. Black Limestone is naturally grey but when polished becomes shiny black thus making the raised geometric design stand out against the rougher texture of the background. With only two tile patterns which can fit together on any side, the installation can be exciting and quite varied, or done in a soothing repeat pattern. Either way, OBLìO is a remarkable testament to an Artist’s ability to enhance nature.
