One day Ellen Blakeley was walking by a shattered bus shelter and saw art where others saw destruction. Her moment of inspiration spawned an entirely new art medium which combines all the beautiful characteristics of glass with her sensual taste in colors and patterns. The result is pure pleasure AND guilt-free as Ms. Blakeley uses all recycled waste glass.

Receiving her MFA from Mills College under the tutelage of renowned artist Ron Nagle, Ellen has taken the innovative teacher’s mantra, “break the rules” to heart, literally and figuratively. Her curiosity and devotion to ignoring boundaries has led to the development of an industrial yet feminine aesthetic romancing urban glass.
